Dr. Puig is a dermatologist specialized in Dermatoncology. She is head of the Dermatology Department at Hospital Clínic Barcelona, Barcelona, Spain; Head of research group “Melanoma: Imaging, Genetics and immunology” at IDIBAPS (Institut d’investigacions Biomèdiques August Pi Suñer); Professor at the Medicine Department, University of Barcelona. Special research areas are imaging techniques for the in vivo non-invasive diagnosis (dermoscopy, digital follow-up of melanocytic tumors, confocal microscopy, LC-OCT), genetics of melanoma, melanoma immunology and therapy, skin cancer susceptibility, skin cancer therapy and carcinogenesis with the publication of more than 460 indexed scientific articles, 2 dermoscopy books and more than 30 book chapters. 

Dr. Puig is or has been the main investigator of more than 30 research projects. She is or has been the principal investigator of more than 40 trials. She is member of the executive board of the International Dermoscopy Society; member of the steering committee of the EORTC Melanoma Group; member of several international consortiums as GenoMel, BioGenoMel and Melanostrum; and member of the Board of the GEM (grupo Español Multidisciplinar de Melanoma) and ASEICA (Asociación Epañola de Investigación contra el Cáncer).
